The Upper Camas Wall (a.k.a. the ‘Whalebacks’) grades are very moderate, as these are mostly 'bulge-and-slab' style climbs on glacier-polished basalt. They can be accessed via Matty’s Ledge as second pitch options for climbers interested in an introduction into multipitch climbing.
Second pitch after topping out "Sketch Artist" to highest point on the crag. Climbers left of Matty’s Ledge, begin on a blocky start moving up to the smooth bulges and slabs of the whalebacks. Highest (elevation) anchor on any ropes climb on the Glen Lake Crag, and the first original rappel access anchor installed before being made into a route in later years. FA S Morphy, M Lacroix '19.
Off Matty's, this line is a series of easy bulges and slab problems wandering up the whalebacks. A very relaxing climb! FA S Morphy, M Lacroix '19
Starts on Matty's ledge, up a steeper face using broken flake and weathered crack features, then levels off higher up onto the bulges and slabs of the whalebacks. FA S Morphy, M Lacroix '19
Start on Matty’s ledge, past right side of pointed under-cling / roof structure, following broken crack system to end on wide ledge short of the top – no top out is available for this climb as the anchor sits at the back of one of the whaleback ledges. Great place for a sport climber's ledge lunch! FA S Morphy, M Lacroix'19
